The BBC have today announced the 50th special will be called “The Day of The Doctor”. The special has also been confirmed to be 75 minutes long.
Also today, it has been announced Professor Brian Cox will host a special lecture on BBC 2 on the science of Doctor Who. BBC Four will be re running the first ever episode, while BBC 2’s The Culture Show is to present Me, You and Doctor Who, with lifelong fan Matthew Sweet exploring the cultural significance of the BBC’s longest running TV drama. On Radio BBC Radio 2 presents Who is The Doctor? a show exploring exactly what makes The Doctor special. BBC 3 meanwhile will be showing Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide for those less familiar with the show.
