The BBC have today released promotional pictures for the second episode of its new BBC One drama, Traces. The new drama, inspired by an idea from novelist Val McDermid and written by Amelia Bullmore centres on new forensic lab technician Emma (Molly Windsor) returning home to Glasgow to investigate the death of her mother. More pictures and the episode synopsis can be seen below:

Glad of McKinven’s (Michael Nardone) help, Emma (Molly Windsor) soon feels overwhelmed by the police interest and wonders what she’s started.

But when the stars align to put Daniel (Martin Compston) in her path, Emma feels a deep connection.
