The BBC have today released promotional pictures for the first episode of the twelfth and final series of New Tricks. First broadcast in 2003 and starring Amanda Redman, Alun Armstrong, Dennis Waterman and James Bolam the series followed detectives from the Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad. The series, which has run for eleven series was axed by the BBC earlier this year with Series 12 being the last. All member of the original cast have left the show, having been replaced by Larry Lamb, Tamzin Outhwaite, Nicholas Lyndhurst and Denis Lawson with the exception of Dennis Waterman who will feature in the first two episode of the series. The twelfth series will be broadcast on BBC One later this year. Executives at the BBC promised that the series would “go out on a high” following the conclusion of the last ten episode run. The first episode of Series 12 will be broadcast on Tuesday the 4th of August on BBC One from 9:00pm to 10:00pm. Synopsis and more promotional pictures below:
